Curriculum intent

Our aim as a school is to 'nurture curiosity'. We do this by enabling the children to be creative and curious individuals and by helping them to develop the skills and knowledge that they need to be successful members of the community. Skills such as collaboration, problem solving, communication and compassion for ourselves and our planet are integrated into our curriculum & teaching approaches.

We follow the 'Dimensions ' curriculum & have worked in partnership with their primary specialists to co-construct a curriculum that suits the needs of our children and covers the National Curriculum fully. We chose to work with Dimensions because their curriculum offers flexibility & the opportunity to tailor learning journeys. At the heart of our curriculum are the 4Cs:

Communication           Conflict               Culture                    Conservation

These global issues are central to shaping our curriculum and provide a framework for developing pupils as informed and active Global Citizens.

From Early Years through to the end of Key Stage 2, we build an outward-facing approach that prepares pupils for future learning and experiences. The whole-school focus on the same world issue at the same time creates a cohesive, shared understanding, deepening their connection to the world around them.

Our aim is that all pupils will reach the end goals below by the end of their time with us:
